Dominique Perrault was born in 1953 in Clermont Ferrand, lives and works in Paris. French architect, architecture, sometimes called eco-tech.
In 1979 he graduated from the Institute of bridges and roads in Paris, and in 1980 - graduate of the Graduate School for Social Research. In 1981 he opened a workshop in Paris. His first projects - School of Engineering ESIEE in Marne-la-Vallée and Hotel Industriel Berlier in Paris.
The winner of the competition to design the building of the National Library in Paris (1989), the Olympic velodrome and swimming pool in Berlin (1992), the Palace of Justice in Luxembourg, the EU (1996). Won the competition to design the new building of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, but the final implementation of the project was suspended.
Winner of the "Grand National Prize for Architecture" (1996) and "Prize Mies van der Rohe" (1997). He was awarded the Legion of Honour. A member of the French Academy of Architecture, an honorary member of the German Architectural Association (BDA) and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). In 1998-2001 - the president of the French Institute of Architecture.
