Anthropology and the New Cosmopolitanism inaugurates a new, situated, cosmopolitan anthropology. Its ethnographic and theoretical subject is the rise of postcolonial movements responsive to global rights movements, which espouse a politics of dignity, cultural difference, democracy, dissent and tolerance.
