A great book.The Lightkeeper's Wife by Sarah Johnson is the gripping story of Hannah Snow, a lighthouse keeper’s young wife on Cape Cod in the mid-19th century, who rows into storms to save shipwrecked sailors while awaiting her husband John’s return after an extended absence. When John’s horse is found abandoned along the road, and weeks of searches bring no answers as to his whereabouts, Hannah takes on one of her rescues, William “Billy” Pike to help her keep the lights and the accompanying responsibilities. The two settle into a tenuous routine, but when Hannah discovers that “Billy” is not the man she thought he was, everything she knows about herself and her life at Dangerfield comes into question. A beautifully written, page-turning read.
