This book is not well known by most control system engineers. Not too long ago, it very difficult to find a used copy let alone a reprint at a reasonable price. It covers many variants of the describing function including the Gaussian random process describing function which I never heard before I bought this classic book. It also covers describing functions for sampled data systems too. I do not know of any other book which covers this variant of the describing function. The book has extensive tables of describing functions which is very important so that you do not have to derive them from scratch. In my opinion, this is a classic book and is the best book on the topic of describing functions that anyone can comprehend easily.
