MechSoft is a Knowledge Content and entry-level Knowledge Capture tool
for all users. MechSoft provides a turnkey set of wizards that have the
ability to create mechanical correct components automatically by
entering any number of simple or complex mechanical attributes.
MechSoft includes a comprehensive set of calculations that represent
standard mathematical formulas and physical theories that determine the
feasibility of designs and revisions. Most of these engineering
calculations automatically create a parametric component that is placed
in the CAD assembly. You can insert other calculators into the assembly
and link them to other parameters.
MechSoftOs product consists of calculations, a calculation-driven parts
generator, and on-line engineering reference information supporting the
calculations. The online reference information documents the formulas,
algorithms, and theory associated with each calculation. Attributes like
power, speed, torque, material properties, working temperatures,
lubrication conditions, etc. are all stored as part of CAD native files.
MechSoft isn't only a set of functions; it is an important component for
implementation of a new engineering design approach. MechSoft supports
design by function and adds mechanical content and intelligence. This
method of Knowledge Content and Capture is consistent with the Product
Life Cycle Management concept.
