Under the sonorous name of "grenadier divisions", German infantry divisions of the 27-30 wave of recruitment (summer 1944) hid, which meant a new division organization, better weapons, and a mediocre quality of personnel.
In the autumn of 1944, the "Grenadier" divisions, often merged from two to one, were renamed "People's Grenadier" - again, as recognition of their combat merits and propaganda advance of future battles.
The work of the Chief of Staff of the Wehrmacht troops in Denmark (George Lindemann's army), Major-General Helmut Reinhardt, will describe the history of the creation of these divisions, their structure and armament. Translated into English.
