The Project Management Body of Knowledge is a project management standard developed by the International Institute of PMI (Project Management Institute). PMBOK contains the amount of professional knowledge in project management. PMI uses this document as the main reference material for preparing for the PMP (Project Manegement Professional) exam.
This standard describes the essence of project management processes in terms of the integration between processes and the interactions between them, as well as the goals they serve. These processes are divided into five groups, called "project management process groups".
PMBOK 4th edition was a revolutionary change in PMI techniques. For the first time, the methodology of conducting analytical work, prototyping, iterativity, and even the application of artificial intelligence systems for forecasting the completion of the project in terms of time and budget was disclosed.
