"Picturesque sketches of manners, customs and entertainment of Russians ..." is the fruit of a 15-year stay (1784-1801) of the famous English painter and engraver John Augustin Atkinson in Russia. Returning to London at the beginning of the 19th century, Atkinson published an album of paintings depicting the customs, customs and entertainments of Russians.
