If you've ever watched the show "Oddities" on television about the off-beat and
eclectic New York collectibles shop, you are already familiar with Steampunk's
Neo-Victorian counter-cultural movement. If not, this book is the perfect
introduction. The movement attempts to recapture/restore a sense of wonder,
adventure and creativity characteristic of nineteenth-century inventors and
entreprenuers and combine it with artisan craftsmanship too often lacking in the
contemporary world. You may not "like" Steampunk works, but you won't be able to
dismiss them as run-of-the-mill art either.
