What Is Muse?
In this chapter, we will go over the basics of Adobe Muse and get ready to start working on our first website design.
The Muse Interface
In this chapter we’ll explore the Adobe Muse interface and its many screens, discussing what each one does and how to use it.
The Design Screen
This chapter will look in detail at the Design screen, including new panel groupings and additional features that will ultimately prove invaluable when putting together a website.
Planning a Website
Before you start designing your website, there are some important planning steps to take care of. In this chapter we’ll look at things like wireframing, setting the site and page properties, and working with master pages.
Designing the Master Page
In this chapter we will further develop several aspects of our master page, adding a footer navigation menu and customizing the main menu navigation so that it is more visually appealing than the previous wireframe version.
Working with Content
The heart of any website is the text and images that make up the content. In this chapter you will learn how to add and format text, place graphics, add image effects, create hyperlinks, and more.
Integrating with Photoshop and Fireworks
One of the big advantages of Muse is how well it integrates with other Adobe applications. In this chapter you’ll see how to place and edit graphics created in Photoshop or Fireworks, as well as how to optimize images and create high-fidelity prototypes.
Publishing Your Web Project
The last step in creating a website with Muse is to put it out into the world by publishing it. In this chapter we’ll look at the various publishing options available to you, as well as how to export a site as HTML and create a simple contact form.
