Part 1 of the series begins with a base mesh and an overview of the ZBrush tools and general sculpting techniques used to define the anatomy. From here we go on to see how the shirt, trousers and shoes can be swiftly created as simple meshes over the character in 3ds Max and exported back into ZBrush for detailed sculpting.
The second half of the tutorial goes onto create the greaves and focuses on texturing the head and torso as well as the gloves and shoes using both ZBrush and Photoshop.
Part 2 continues the series of tutorials by focusing on the armour. The methods used to create the scale mail, shoulder pad, straps, buckles and belt section are covered. Photoshop is used to create alpha masks which are then applied in ZBrush to add elaborate detail and decoration to the armour. The final three movies round off with texturing the greaves and scale mail as well the final texturing touches, before concluding with a tutorial on using the Transpose tool in ZBrush to pose the final character.
