Calming flow sequences gently strengthen while fostering relaxation. This DVD emphasized moves that bend, twist and stretch the spine. You will also get some ab, arms and leg work with it. The quality of the production is great. You do not have to turn your head awkardly to watch the screen as all of the moves are slow, repetitive and well instructed. If you miss it the first time, it does come around again. I know that some reviewers complain that this is slow, but I think that is the point. It is very meditative and stress free. You will feel better after doing this 60 minute work out as opposed to more stressed. This DVD does require some upper body (cat bow, sort of a modified push up) and lower body (half locust, leg lifts that work the gluteal area) strength, but Kali offers modifications and suggestions if the pose or flow is too difficult for you.
TriYoga Free the Spine emphasizes wavelike spinal movements that help promote strength, flexibility, and energy in the spine, as well as the chest, abdomen, chest, arms, and hands. The flow of body, breath, and focus encourage the increase of vitality to the body and calmness to the mind. This DVD contains 10 sequences, so you can enjoy all 10 in one session, giving a full 60 minute practice, or you can practice them individually.
